Quilceda Creek CVR Red Wine

“CVR” stands for ‘C’est Vin Rouge’ (‘it’s red wine’) in French, and our 2019 Quilceda Creek CVR Red Wine combines lots from our estate vineyard sites, including Champoux, Mach One and Galitzine. The 2019 growing season was unique, with summer temperatures that were considerably warmer than in recent years and above the 20-year average. The resulting wine has copious amounts of black, blue and red fruits, with nuances of graphite, roasted herbs and minerals. This blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot is one of the best CVRs to date and will be best enjoyed over the next 15 years.

"The deep ruby-hued 2019 Columbia Valley CVR checks in as 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% each of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Beautiful Cabernet notes of cassis, redcurrants, tobacco, spring flowers, and cedarwood all define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's a more elegant, silky, pure, classic Cabernet from this team."

"The 2019 Red Wine CVR by Quilceda Creek combines nearly all Cabernet Sauvignon (94%) with smaller parts Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Impressive right out of the gate, it shows off pretty red florals alongside red bell pepper, blackberry compote and mocha tones on the nose. Full-bodied and beautifully textured, with good length, this beautiful wine is already showing brilliantly in its youth and will continue to develop over the next decade."

"The 2019 CVR Columbia Valley Red Wine has a classic, red-fruited, juicy nose with focused, ripe, round and accessible crunchy red and black fruit essences. Medium to full-bodied, the red blend offers a fantastic, dusty expression with elegant French oak tones that linger through the mid-palate before gliding to a brilliant, long finish that will continue drinking great for another decade."
